Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook Awards

Paris Photo and Aperture Foundation are pleased to announce the call for entries for the 2026 Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook Awards.

Since 2012, the Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook Awards have recognized the photobook’s essential contribution to the field of photography. The Awards honor excellence in three categories: First PhotoBook, PhotoBook of the Year, and Photography Catalog of the Year.

Each year, thousands of books are submitted by artists and publishers from around the world.

The selection process takes place in two stages: an initial review in New York, followed by the final jury review at Paris Photo, held November 12–15, 2026.

Pre-Jury 2026

This year's pre-jury consists of:

– Alejandro Cartagena, Artist
– Alexandra Cunningham Cameron, Director of Design, Donald Judd Foundation
– Michael Famighetti, Editor in Chief, Aperture
– Anna Planas, Artistic Director, Paris Photo
– Anshika Varma, Founder and Curator, Offset Projects

2025 Paris Photo-Aperture PhotoBook Awards Winners

First PhotoBook

A $10,000 prize was awarded to the photographer or artist whose first completed, publicly available photobook was judged the best of the year.
The 20 shortlisted titles in this category were on view at Paris Photo 2025.

PhotoBook of the Year

Awarded to the photographer and publisher of the photobook judged the best of the year.
The 10 shortlisted titles in this category were on view at Paris Photo 2025.

Photography Catalog of the Year

Since 2014, this award has recognized the publisher(s) and/or organizing institution(s) responsible for the year’s best exhibition catalog or museum publication. The five shortlisted titles in this category were on view at Paris Photo 2025.
