After earning a degree in Graphic Design, Aline Savioz pursued a Bachelor's degree in Photography at ECAL, graduating in 2026. Through staged photography, she creates ambiguous worlds shaped by subjective projections, where the boundaries between reality and fiction become increasingly blurred. In 2025, she was selected as a laureate of the Dior Photography and Visual Arts Award for Young Talents, presented during the Rencontres d'Arles.
The project
Developed during a particularly introspective period of my life, this project emerged from a desire to understand and give visual form to feelings of unease, diffuse anxiety, and the loss of meaning in everyday life.
Through staged photography, I construct images inspired by personal memories, dreams, and the collective imagination. The work explores how subtle disruptions within familiar situations can generate discomfort, revealing how reality can suddenly appear unstable or distorted.
The masks evoke questions of conformity, self-perception, and the desire to impose order on experiences that ultimately resist control. While rooted in personal experience, the project seeks to create a space for projection by exploring emotions that, although deeply intimate, remain widely shared.
