About
Louis Vuitton has been celebrating the art of travel since 1854. Its latest invitations to escape will mark the tenth anniversary of its Fashion Eye photo album collection with two brand-new releases. In a body of archive images being presented for the first time, American photographer George Hoyningen-Huene offers a carefully crafted glimpse of Bangkok and its surroundings in 1937 that reflects his own aesthetic and spiritual concerns. Meanwhile, Chinese photographer Liu Shuwei captures everyday life alongside moments of wonder in Shanghai, where the line between past and present blurs in a play on perspective, transparency and light. Each title in this collection features a country, region, city or place as seen through the lens of a fashion photographer.
Louis Vuitton Editions & photography
Louis Vuitton has operated its own publishing house for over twenty years. Today, the Maison’s catalogue counts over a hundred titles, with three collections devoted to travel: City Guides (travel guides), Travel Books (artists’ travel journals) and Fashion Eye (photo albums).
Every year, in collaboration with international publishers, Louis Vuitton also produces coffee table books showcasing the Maison’s creations and activities. These titles are released alongside a limited-edition collection of signed and numbered artists’ editions, exclusively available in Louis Vuitton stores.
