The Italian City of Photography at Paris Photo Over the past years, Turin has developed the most vibrant and significant photography ecosystem in Italy, thanks to the presence of cultural institutions, festivals, educational, creative and professional activities, galleries, independent spaces, collections, and ini tiatives dedicated to both contemporary and historical photography. The torino: fotografia space at Paris Photo 2026 celebrates 100 years of the photoboo th. Since its invention in 1925, artists have transformed this device, originally designed to produce ID photographs: four images become a narrative, the sequence of shots generates tension, and often the assembly of multiple strips and the dialogue between juxtaposed images give rise to the artwork itself. Throughout Paris Photo, torino: foto grafia will invite talented photographers to continue this story and engage with the unique constraints of this distinctive photographic machine. Some photographers will be invited to use the photobooth installed at the stand and create a work live on site, which will be immediately displayed on the walls of the exhibition space.
