Fnac's 70th anniversary in 2024 is an opportunity to highlight its prestigious photographic collection

Fnac, Europe's leading retailer ofentertainment, leisure and consumer electronics products, has, since its creation in 1954, played a key role in the recognition of photography in France and in the support of photographers. Since the late 60s, the company has been the first private player to make photography freely accessible to the general public, through its network of photo galleries in France and abroad. Over the years, Fnac has built up a collection covering the twentieth and twenty-first centuries of history of photography, displaying its major currents and trends, its emblematic authors, and the views of its various artistic directors. This unique collection, which began in 1978, is now housed at the Musée Nicéphore Niépce in Chalon-sur-Saône and promoted by the Museum and Fnac teams.
