OUR STORY

Paris Photo is created by Rik Gadella. The first edition is held at the Carrousel du Louvre and welcomes 60 galleries from 12 counties.

Paris Photo moves to the historic Grand Palais. An ambitious public program is launched including special exhibitions and the Platform conversation series.

Paris Photo creates the Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation Photobook Awards honoring the photobook’s contribution to the evolving narrative of Photography. Today, the awards are recognized as an important reference for artists and publishers across the world.

Paris Photo crosses the Atlantic to Los Angeles’ legendary Paramount Pictures Studios for three important editions from 2013 to 2015.

Paris Photo inaugurates two curated sectors. Beginning in 2015, PRISMES highlights large formats, series and installation works. In 2018, Curiosa is introduced with a thematic project curated by Martha Kirzenbaum spotlighting erotic photography. In 2019, Osei Bonsu is named curator and turns the focus on emerging artists.

Paris Photo reunites the two capitals of photography with the creation of Paris Photo New York. The fair is presented with The Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD).

New dates will be announced soon.
