DER GREIF

Germany

Mingle with us for the special pre-launch of Der Greif 15 at Paris Photo. Issue 15, titled The Collectivity Issue, is guest-edited by 50 renowned artists who juxtapose their work with an image from an open call for entries we launched in relation to the issue. To celebrate the launch, we will be joined by some of the guest-artists whose work is also exhibited in this year’s edition of Paris Photo. We are looking forward to presenting this truly collective work of art to the public, alongside your chance to get a signed copy. Since our inception in 2008, we at Der Greif are committed to researching subjects affecting the production, distribution, presentation and perception of photographic images – in print, on screens as well as in exhibitions.

Martin Parr, a member of Magnum Photos since 1994, changed the face of documentary photography with his project The Last Resort (1983-1985), creating a space for colour photography. In this issue of HOTSHOE, we look at the span of his career, starting with his black-and-white work with rural communities in the 1970s, through to his most recent projects, alongside an extensive interview with Aaron Schuman. Martin Parr will be signing copies of the magazine

BRITISH JOURNAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY

UK

The October issue, presented at Paris Photo 2022, is themed Time & Community. This month, we have an exclusive cover by Tyler Mitchell from his latest series, Chrysalis. You will find a special conversation with him and photo director Gem Fletcher inside. This, plus: a visit to Richard Mosse’s studio in New York, where he discusses his practice and new, activist work about the Amazon Rainforest. And, a spotlight on Miro Kuzmanovic, Daniel Mayrit and 12 Magnum women photographers coming together for a group show, curated by Charlotte Cotton. British documentary photographer Laura Pannack also shares a preview of the next chapter of her investigation into youth, exclusively for BJP.
