    (uniquement en anglais)

"(…) Old Billingsgate is hosting the new edition of Photo London. In recognition of photography’s spectacular rise as the dominant medium in contemporary art, Photo London has chosen, in this first event under new management, to focus on its recent history by presenting a panorama of contemporary work from 1970 onwards.

To this end, a selection committee of five international experts has been assembled, who after careful deliberation, designated 42 exhibitors from 10 countries on the basis not only of the quality of their projects, but also their relevance to the chosen concept. The works of some 400 artists from 34 countries will constitute a comprehensive overview of the contemporary field, encompassing not only recognised masters, but also highlighting trends emerging from young talent of the new generation.

In On View, a special exhibition dedicated to British photography, six artists have been invited to show work that demonstrates the profound influence they have on photography. It comprises the iconic pictures of the master of British photojournalism, Don McCullin (b.1935) ; Tom Wood’s (b.1951) extraordinary pictures of the ordinary ; the re-interpreted documentary photographs of Paul Graham (b.1956), as well as the photojournalism and landscapes of conflict by Simon Norfolk (b.1963) ; Corinne Day’s (b.1965) visual personal diary ; and the work of Julia Fullerton-Batten (b.1970), a leading and highly individual photographer based in the UK."
