BRUNO SERRALONGUE - L’AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE - THE INHABITANTS : CALAIS – TESTIMONIES FROM THE « JUNGLE »

This project raises a simple question: how does photography testify to the situation of the refugees staying in the camps near Calais? Through three approaches; that of artist Bruno Serralongue and his Calais series (2006-2018), the photographs taken by the Agence France Presse published in the media, and the testimonies of the inhabitants themselves, this exhibition aims to illustrate and explore the different functions, roles and statuses of the image.

SÉBASTIEN LIFSHITZ - THE ENDLESS INVENTORY

Winner of the 2012 César award for Best Documentary with his movie Les Invisibles, Sébastien Lifshitz has been collecting amateur photographs since his childhood. After Under Cover, a secret history of cross-dressers, in 2016, he now presents the exhibition The Endless inventory comprising over 400 amateur images from his collection. Conceived as a subjective anthology of amateur photography, with this project Sébastien Lifshitz reveals an intimate part of his artistic education in a dialogue between his movies and an array of photographs found at flea markets, garage sales or on the Internet.
