  • Paris Photo is the largest international art fair dedicated to the photographic medium and is held each November at the historic Grand Palais in Paris. Since 1997, the Fair’s mission is to promote and nurture photographic creation and the galleries, publishers and artists at its source.

    Paris Photo brings together up to 200 exhibitors from across the world, offering collectors and enthusiasts the most diverse and qualitative presentation of photography-driven projects today. Leading galleries showcase historical and contemporary artworks from modern masters to young talents. Specialized publishers and art book dealers present unique and rare editions, as well as book launches and signature sessions with many of today’s most renowned artists.

    Paris Photo also provides visitors with first-hand insights and access to the art world. Programming includes curated exhibitions with renowned public and private institutions, awards, conversation cycles with curators, artists, collectors, and critics, and special events exploring the unique history of the medium; varying visions, practices and emerging trends. In addition, the Fair’s “In Paris during Paris Photo” programme reunites a dense network of cultural institutions throughout Paris comprising some of the most historically rich photographic collections in the world.

    The 22nd edition of Paris Photo will take place Thursday, November 8 through Sunday, November 11 with a preview day on Wednesday, November 7 (by invitation only).

  • Sectors


    Main sector galleries present a complete panorama of artworks with a special emphasis on solo, duo shows, and thematic projects offering visitors the opportunity to discover and rediscover leading artists through the viewing of important artistic ensemble.


    The Book sector brings together specialised publishers and art book dealers from across the world highlighting the important role of the photobook in the history of the medium and in the creative process. Visitors also profit from environ 300 artist signature sessions that animate the sector.

    PRISMES is a curated sector bringing together galleries showcasing exceptional large-format, series, and installation projects exploring the photographic medium in its most diverse forms and practices.

    New for 2018, Paris Photo inaugurates the Curiosa sector, curated this year by independent curator and writer Martha Kirszenbaum (recently named curator of the French Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Biennale). For this first edition a selection of erotic images will be unveiled, challenging our gaze on the fantasized and fetishicized body, and tackling relations of power, domination and gender issues.


    The FILM sector highlights the relationship between still and moving images in artistic creation with a selection of artist film and video screenings by Paris Photo exhibitors.

  • Selection committee - Galleries

    Paris Photo exhibitors are selected by an international committee of renowned gallerist and publishers in accordance with the quality and the originality of each submitted project with a particular attention given to the diversity of expression and the relevance of the proposed installations presented in each application.
