METRONOM

METRONOM

Stand:

Metronom, an organization founded in Modena by Marcella Manni, since 2008 investigates and promotes research on contemporary visual culture and in particular on photography. The gallery’s activities are currently increasing due its collaboration with foreign artists, galleries and institutions, as well as it hosting numerous projects in the contemporary art field. During this decade, large space was given to young artists by hosting solo or group exhibitions. Metronom has also always tried to support a dense network of events, open calls and artist residencies as LIVEstudio, a project born in order to grow and get to know the artists' work not only at the local level but also international, and Digital Video Wall, a call-for-project dedicated to digital art. Moreover Metronom is interested in the dissemination of knowledge, offering lectures, interviews and workshops presented on generazionecritica, a platform with theoretical insights on visual culture practices. The aim to promote contemporary art has continued in 2018 with the foundation of Metronom Books, the new Metronom’s publishing project dedicated to artist's books, limited editions, fanzines, critical essays with interventions by artists and various professionals in the sector.
