GILBERTO GÜIZA-ROJAS

Gilberto Güiza-Rojas was born in Colombia in 1983. He lives and works in Paris.

The artist uses staging and corporal exploration to examine various problems that arise in the world of work. On one hand the gestures, choreographies and performances created stem from the tangible particularities of a profession, and on the other the subjective stories participants tell during discussions with Güiza-Rojas.

In 2021, he was awarded the CNAP Support for Contemporary Documentary Photography grant and in 2018 the Regards du Grand Paris national photographic commission presented by Ateliers Médicis and CNAP. His En la lucha and Territory-Work series are part of the CNAP National Fund for Contemporary Art collection.

He graduated from Paris 8 University with a Master’s degree in Photography and Contemporary Art, and from Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia in industrial engineering.
