Initiated in November 2012 by Aperture Foundation and Paris Photo, The PhotoBook Awards celebrate the photobook’s contribution to the evolving narrative of Photography.
PhotoBook of the Year: Sohrab Hura, The Coast, self-published (New-Delhi, India)
Photography Catalogue of the Year: Enghelab Street, A Revolution through Books: Iran 1979-1983, Hannah Darabi, SpectorBook et LeBal
First PhotoBook: Gao Shan, The Eighth Day, Imageless studio (Wuxi, China)
Juror's Special Mention: Drew Nikonowic, This World and Others Like It, Fw Books (Asmterdam) and Yoffypress (Atlanta)
The final Jury of the Photobook Awards are:

The initial jury made the selection from nearly 1,000 titles and was made by Amanda Maddox, associate curator in the Department of Photographs at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Joanna Milter, director of photography at the New Yorker,
Lesley A. Martin, creative director of Aperture Foundation and editor of The PhotoBook Review, Drew Sawyer, curator of Photography at the Brooklyn Museum and Christoph Wiesner, Paris Photo artistic director.
Three prizes will be awarded in the following categories: First PhotoBook, PhotoBook of the Year, and Photography Catalogue of the Year. The winner for the First PhotoBook category will receive a $10,000 prize.
The winners of the other two categories will each receive a commemorative award.
The thirty-five shortlisted titles will be exhibited at the fair and profiled in issue 017 of The PhotoBook Review, a bi-annual publication created by Aperture and distributed during the Fair. The shortlisted books will travel thereafter to venues to be announced.
