COMPANY

Stand:

Company Gallery, founded in 2014, is committed to presenting innovative contemporary art, drawing of both emerging and established artists. While our program has a particular focus on queer and feminist aesthetics, Company has also exhibited an array of international artists working in a number of fields, including digital media, sculpture, painting, and performance. Founded as a project space called Capricious in Williamsburg in 2009 by director Sophie Mörner, the non-profit space closed in 2011 and reopened in 2014 as a gallery in Manhattan with a group photography show. Since then, Company has hosted a number of exhibitions by national and international artists, including Barbara Hammer (US), Heike Karin-Foell (Germany), Cajsa von Zeipel (Sweden), Evelyn Taocheng Wang (China/Netherlands), Yve Laris Cohen (US), Raúl de Nieves (US/Mexico). Working with Capricious Press, Company also has a committed literary program that includes regular poetry readings, publications, and performances by writers.
