Jury Member: Jens Hoffmann
Jens Hoffmann is a writer and exhibition maker. Since 2012 he is Deputy Director of the Jewish Museum, New York and since 2011 Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit. Formerly Director of the CCA-Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts in San Francisco (2007 - 2012) and Director of Exhibitions at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London (2003 - 2007), Hoffmann has organized more than 60 exhibitions internationally including major biennials like the 12th Istanbul Biennial (2011) and the 9th Shanghai Biennial (2012). Currently he is also co-curator of the 1st Cleveland Exhibition (2018) and curator of the 3rd People’s Biennial (2017) at the Museum of Contemporary Art Indianapolis. His most recent books include Theater of Exhibitions (Sternberg Press 2015), (Curating) From A to Z (JRP|Ringier, 2015) and Showtime (Thames and Hudson, 2013). He contributes regularly to Frieze, Artforum and Texte zur Kunst.
