ACQUA #5, by Giorgio Armani
Official Partner of Paris Photo since 2011, Giorgio Armani presents the 5th edition of the ACQUA exhibition, consecrated to the theme of water in photography.
ACQUA #5 questions the notion of limits in the representation of water. The limit as a surface, both impenetrable and moving as in the work of Debra Bloomfield and like a second skin for Meyerovitz. Water as a limit, agitated as in the work of Trent Parke, or in movement in the nebulous sky of Facundo de Zuviria. But also in the photographic limitations of the representation of water as in the photographic and sculptural installations of Graciela Sacco and the experimentations on photographic paper of Alison Rossiter.
Water has always been integral to Giorgio Armani’s designs, and since 2009, it has also been a personal civic priority for the designer: the most recent 'Acqua for Life' (tm) campaign collected more than 52 million liters of drinking water to support Green Cross International and its programs in Ghana and in Bolivia.
Exhibition presented on the 1st floor in the Salon d’Honneur at the Grand Palais.
