Born in Europe and raised in Evanston, Illinois, D.V. DeVincentis lives between Los Angeles and London. Beginning his creative life at an early age in the Chicago theater, DeVincentis established the seminal 90’s experimental theater company New Crime with colleagues John Cusack, Jeremy Piven, and Tim Robbins. After studying literature and filmmaking at Columbia College and New York University he moved to Los Angeles, from where he has written and produced film scripts in collaboration with others and alone, including HIGH FIDELITY (Writers Guild of America and BAFTA nominations), GROSSE POINTE BLANK, LAY THE FAVORITE, and S.O.S., among others.
Among a number of current film projects, DeVincentis is writing an untitled psychological thriller for producer Joe Roth, the supernatural suspense comedy HAUNTED MANSION for director Guillermo Del Toro, and an adaptation of the ‘70’s cult television classic, THE NIGHT STALKER, for Johnny Depp (actor, producer) and Edgar Wright (director). Recently DeVincentis has expanded into television, and his current works in this arena include a limited television series for FX and producer/director Ryan Murphy that takes on the culture-shifting moment in America brought about by the OJ Simpson murder trial. He is also set to begin production this year on THE BOND, a series he created and will produce, starring Kiefer Sutherland.
Photography has always been a part of DeVincentis’ writing, staging, and filming. At an early age, creating still images became both a separate pursuit and a necessary and integral part of his theater and cinema process, as it continues be to this day. DeVincentis has and continues to periodically show his photographic work in solo and group shows. He is honored and excited to be a part of Paris Photo.
