The Maison de Victor Hugo pays tribute to the poet and to poetry by dedicating an exhibition to a poem by Victor Hugo : The Slope of Reverie. This poem describes the experience of daydreamer looking out of his window in the center of Paris. His thoughts lead him far away, to remote, gigantic lands, and h is carried by his visions to the "depths of the abyss". Taken form Autumn Leaves, this poem is considered to be Hugo's first great "visionary" poem.
The exhibition provided an opportunity for a collaboration with the Academie de Créteil school district and educational teams. During 2015-2016, different classes worked on the poem and used it as an inspiration for their personal reading and interpretation of the poem. This resulted in some surprising créations using a variety of mediums : films, photos and drawings.(...)
