Impressions mémorielles, Exposition photo collective sur le thème de la mémoire de l'esclavage
May 10, 2017 — Jul 10, 2017
Musée de l'Homme
17 Place du Trocadéro et du 11 Novembre
Impressions mémorielles brings together the work of 10 French, African and Brazilian photographers for an exhibition focusing on slavery: Céline Anaya Gautier, José Bassit, Robert Charlotte, David Damoison, Claudio Edinger, Mirtho Linguet, Fabrice Monteiro, Samuel Nja Kwa, Véronique Vial & Adolphe Catan (1899-1979).
Each offers an artistic and contemporary view on the slave trade, a subject long-time repressed and obscured, by uncovering its traces in the events and the places that throughout time have been marked and stigmatized by its passage. After centuries of erratic, unfair and abominable treatment, the objective is to demystified and instruct.
